Isn't that basically what the power saving does for your monitor?  Although it's not off via the switch, I thought it still effectively turned the screen off, which I'd think would be basically the same in helping prolong the life of your monitor.

I've seen Windows 11 be inconsistent about it though.  I have it set to turn off the monitor after 5 minutes of inactivity, but there have been times when I've left it and came back later and the screen was still on.  So, sometimes I still turn off the monitor via the switch anyway.
