Keep in mind, besides maybe forklift drivers, truckers, farmers, retailers and shop workers, most of these 'trades' do indeed have an apprenticeship, which includes paid-for schooling. This way you do not get out of college starting out with a 5-6 figure debt, and you make decent money (at least enough to raise a family and buy a house.. even if only on a single income, that's for sure). In a sense, I can agree that "higher education" is a good thing, but "college" is definitely questionable.. depending on what you use your time and money there for. There are more useless degrees than there are useful ones. Getting out of college to an 80k debt while only making 40k/year is definitely not time and money well spent. Regards, Nick ....
