Sorry for you loss. 
When my dad passed, we had a similar experience where the week before was a good visit to the hospital but things turned south quickly and he was gone within a week.

Please remember to take care of yourself during these times as well if possible. (both mentally and physically) I know I didn't really do that when my dad passed and no good came of that.

Will do. I texted her earlier today when I realized we haven't spoke in over a month but perhaps I call is in order tomorrow...
