Subj : Windows 11 on a T450s To : All From : poindexter FORTRAN Date : Sun Feb 09 2025 09:36 am I've got a Thinkpad T450s, think it's got a i7-5500u CPU, 12 GB of RAM, and was running a current install of Windows 10. It's definitely not supported by Microsoft for Windows 11. I downloaded a Windows 11 ISO image from Microsoft, used Rufus to burn it to a USB stick, told it to ignore the memory and TPM checks. I booted to Windows 10 and ran the setup program from the USB stick. Told it to do an upgrade, and let it run. Came back after running errands to find it sitting at a Windows 11 login. So far, everything looks good and everything I had is running. CPU usage was pegged for a while, but I think that was defender and the store app scanning/updating themselves. I'm going to be using it instead of my desktop this week, will see how it performs under more continual use. --- MultiMail/Win v0.52 * Origin: realitycheckBBS.org -- information is power. (21:4/122) .
