Same here

Since we moved up here in May 2023, my weekends are basically tied up doing
"property" things - whether that be mowing, snipping, cutting down trees,
planting trees, repairing very old house, and many other things...

Here in Vic, we haven't had a proper, traditional hot summer since the year
before Covid - which, honestly, probably not a bad thing as proper hot
summers here often lead to bad bush fires destroying way too much!

Its only in the last couple of years that those who lost their homes near my
parents property in 2019 have just had their new homes built. Insurance
companies take so long to settle claims here - should be illegal!!

The properties surrounding ours are loaded with tall dry grass ready for a
high speed grass fire to come & destroy us, so I am doing what I [reasonably]
can with what resources I have to be somewhat prepared... 

Otherwise, things are good! We've planted some 30odd new fruit trees, olive
trees, avocado trees, etc... Just takes lots of water to keep them alive at
the moment :D
