It made the space really workable. The place I worked in -- the one that lowered the walls -- built some booths that were supposed to be for that and/or for visitors to use. None of them had phones installed, of course, and only four of them were "out of the way" enough not to bother others. The majority of them were built right across a very narrow aisle from office cubes.
