If I remember right, it isn't a "server", but it will poll another system for mail via binkp and other methods. So I'd imagine you could probably set it up as a PVT node if you didn't care to use it as a point. Then again, I could be confusing this with OpenXP, which is similar and also includes NNTP support. I installed both around the same time to check them out. I just didn't have a long term use for them. The main differences I noticed that pertained to my interest were that OpenXP has NNTP support, Winpoint doesn't.. and Winpoint has much better UTF-8 support. *shrug* Both of them performed well in their own regard, though.
