That status bar is a pita, I don't ever have it enabled now, it seems irrelevant really now, back in the day it would have been useful to know how long you're connected to a bbs and try and work out how much shouting you'll get from your parents when the bill drops, but nowadays it kinda doesn't really need to be there for the most part, imho.
