I mis-spoke here. I start 'mis' as a daemon from systemd. I just did some playing around and shut down the bbs, restarted as my regular user and ran the mod. Boy, did I get a suprise! All of a sudden a whole bunch of other error messages popped up but not any about missing modules as before! I think you've found it.
