Subj : Adding MagiTerm to Haiku... To : All From : paulie420 Date : Sat Jun 11 2022 02:27 pm Ok, I think I've got this ironed out fairly well. This will work for any software that you compile in Haiku that is NOT a Haiku .hpkg packaged software... Move the installed binary; mv MagiTerm /boot/home/config/non-packaged/bin Now you can run MagiTerm from the terminal, but you might want to add a shortcut to the Haiku desktop; ln -s /boot/home/config/non-packaged/bin/MagiTerm /boot/home/Desktop Now you have a MagiTerm icon on your Haiku desktop, but you might want to add it in the Deskbar [Haiku's Start Menu]; ln -s /boot/home/config/non-packaged/bin/MagiTerm /boot/home/config/settings/deskbar/menu Now you have a MagiTerm icon when you click the Haiku leaf in Deskbar. :P You COULD move the bbs_list.ini file from /home/boot to /home/boot/config/non-packaged/lib, but I'm OK with it live in my home directory... Now I have a fully installed MagiTerm with Desktop shortcut and its in the Deskbar Start Menu... you can also put it in, say, a BBS folder of the Deskbar... and/or sort other Applications as theres only one Applications folder. For more information on this, you can visit the sparsely documented page concerning this; https://www.haiku-os.org/docs/userguide/en/deskbar.html Cheers!! |07p|15AULIE|1142|07o |08......... --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A48 2022/04/03 (Raspberry Pi/32) * Origin: 2o fOr beeRS bbs>>>20ForBeers.com:1337 (21:2/150) .
