Subj : A good BBS client

I had an old pc in the past that i used to connect to BBS servers in the past
but that pc is starting to get old and pretty heavy at this point compared to
the new notebooks so i have a new pc but i dont have any software that can do
telnet (well i do have one that is this right now but PuTTY isn't the best).
Does anyone know a good program that can do Telnet and also have support for
downloads it would be very much appreciated if someone could help me in finding a new program!

PS: I was using an old version of HyperTerminal  in the past, that i don't remember how i got`
