I did run Waffle back in the day as did Avon when we used b> our real names ;) I really don't have much experience with C, how it evolved over the years and cross-platform development. But I wonder if it might be more work to port Waffle to several older versions instead of jumping directly to proper ANSI C99 (or whatever works best).
