I personally like 38,400 for ANSi - but I guess thats subjective; 80s 25x80 screens were pretty wonderful @ 2400... but the later scrollers, and especially 1000+ line ones, needed more than 14.4k to be anything other than SLOW. :P

Imagine watching the ACiD TRiP [4000+ line ANSi] @ < 38.4k - OMG.
