Back in time, in order to get usenet ported to most bbses, you needed to use waffle to make the connections and then some shim (or two) to get the messages flowing between the waffle system and your actual bbs. IIRC, the shim in this case was called fredmail and would convert the messages in the waffle bases to FTN packets for squish to find and toss... and vise-versa for outbound traffic. At any rate, the waffle bbs ran in local mode so that I could sometimes log in and check things out. Because that was originally the only reason I had for using a fido tosser, the directory that squish lives in on my system is still named "WAFFLE". ;) * SLMR 2.1a * ...a host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance... --- SBBSecho 3.28-Linux * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (21:1/175) .
