Subj : Linux Pack Message Bases To : All From : Warpslide Date : Mon Jan 22 2024 05:30 am Hi All, Does anyone know of a utility for Linux that packs JAM message bases without renumbering them? From JamNNTPd's ReadMe_hpt.txt: > * Do NOT pack your messagebase with "hpt pack". When hpt packs a > messagebase, it will also renumber it. This will cause the article > numbers in JamNNTPd to change which will confuse most newsreaders. I have a personal message base with that posts weather/statistics/etc that I read & regularly delete from & then pack the message base. If using a newsreader to view the base I need to unsubscribe & re-subscribe to see any new messages. hptutil pack doesn't seem to work well at all, Golded often can't read the base after using this utility. I have been using sqpack which does work but also renumbers the base. Jay --- Claws Mail 4.2.0 (GTK 3.24.38; x86_64-w64-mingw32) * Origin: Northern Realms (21:3/110) .
