That's exactly how it looks in mine as well.

I have a feeling there's still something wrong with Jamnntpd being ran on 64bit Linux even if it was compiled on 32bit.

Would you mind trying to run it where you compiled it (on the older version of 32bit Ubuntu) and see if that makes the From field display correctly in both Thunderbird and Claws mail?
