I'm not sure about Synchronet.

For Mystic run mystic -cfg and go to Servers -> Configure Servers -> BINKP.

Set the SSL Port to 24553, set Allow StartTLS to Yes and then restart mis.

For any links that support it you can set the BINKP Server Type from Normal to Direct SSL or StartTLS.

I have BinkD configured here with an nginx proxy thanks to instructions that Oli posted in the FSX_CRY echo (MSGID: 21:1/151 5ddd6d52) back in November 2019.  (Search for MSGID: 21:4/106 5e040d16 for instructions for outgoing connections as well.)
