I don't know what the acronym stands for, but it's a method of a system and
user to identify eachother without any interaction.  It sends my name,
location and BBS info (as I have it configured) and send me the users name,
location and terminal info (as they have it configured) for really fast
logins.  I'm not sure if it has other purposes, but EleBBS supports it by
default.  It can even let users log in new if they don't have an accout.
