Subj : The BBBS FDN To : Janis Kracht From : Alan Ianson Date : Tue Oct 19 2021 11:35 pm Hello Janis, >> I was just taking a walk through the filegate.zxx, comparing my >> areas with those listed and I don't see the BBBS FDN listed in >> there. Did that FDN drop away? JK> There were a few problems here... First, Jame Clay left fidonet - he JK> and Kim Heino were the coordinators of the BBBS FDN... Secondly, Kim JK> really did not use Fidonet to release new versions of BBBS, but rather JK> had people download the correct version they needed from his site at JK> bbbs.net, where it remains available for download :) That's true of the recent updates to BBBS. They require an installed base. There hasn't been a BBBS release since 2007.. so I wouldn't call the BBBS areas high traffic.. :) Kim has released new versions of bterm just after the last BBBS updates. There are updated versions for linux 32/64/Rpi, Windows and OS/2. I suppose I could contact Kim but I don't know him well. Do you think that would be a good thing? Ttyl :-), Al ....
