is make.conf missing symlink USE flag ?

if no

zcat /proc/config.gz >/usr/src/linux/.config

nice ?

you miss genkernel ?

emerge sys-kernel/genkernel

last step

genkernel --oldconfig all
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

all there is left is to reboot
