in that position (nominee of a major political party) without
winning primaries. Even LBJ managed to win one primary before
dropping out. And RFK got himself bumped off by a Palestinian
before he could grab it. So what does that tell you?

Lemme see if I got this right. No open convention. 14+ million
primary votes for Joe Biden thrown into the dumpster. I got news
for you. It was not "Biden-Harris" on the ballot. It was Biden.

So what makes you think "the party already agrees to a successor"?
What makes you think the party was involved in "picking the vice"
that (according to you) "in almost all contexts will be the obvious
choice"?

Suppose, just suppose Republicans had convinced Donald Trump
to drop out and installed J.D. Vance as their guy? And then
brought in Nikki Haley as vice president? The MAGA crowd would
have gone nuts! And so would Indians from around the world!
