Subj : windows fido point software To : Eddy Thilleman From : Michael Grant Date : Sun Dec 01 2002 01:07 am Hello Eddy. 27 Nov 02 14:52, you wrote to All: ET> For a friend of mine, I'm looking for windows fido point software, ET> freeware is preferred. Don't use the internal importing and exporting features though, they're buggy. You can just use Squish to do the tossing and call Sempoint from a batch file; Sempoint can read the SQUISH.CFG file directly to see the message base. You could also use GEcho or Fastecho, and have message areas auto-added, then export a SQUISH.CFG file for Sempoint to read from the batch file, everytime you start up the reader. (They both have command line options to automate that.) For a nodelist compiler, I use QNode; it has never given me any trouble. I fixed up a downlink of mine with a similar setup, and he's very happy with it. It can be used for a full node, or a point, or both at the same time, by setting up multiple AKAs. I believe it also supports JAM and MSG, not sure about Hudson. Golded also works very well, but is more difficult to configure. There's lots of options in it's config file, almost to the point of overkill. That tends to scare some people, but usually most defaults in the config file work fine. --- GoldED/386 3.0.1-dam3 * Origin: MikE'S MaDHousE: WelComE To ThE AsYluM! (1:134/11) .
