it can be if you use a ""shim"" that emulates a modem (aka virtual modem) and 
speaks telnet... i use frontdoor in exactly this fashion...

good luck! the code hasn't changed but the compilers have... some things that 
used to be OK to do are likely not allowed these days ;)
