Well MBSE BBS should compile on OS X, and it is very stable, works a treat, 
but might not be your cup of tea ...

If you don't need a BBS, the the Husky Project utils might work out well for 
you, not sure what you'd use as a POTS mailer, if that is a requirement tho 
.... , BinkleyTerm does well on Linux, but not sure that will compile on OS X 
or not ....
