are you rotating your logs properly? remember there's no year in the binkd log 
file format... i have been rotating mine monthly but it is a manual process 
where i grep out the month's data for stats processing and store it in another 
file... i saw what you are seeing and trimmed my log to cut out Dec 2016 and 
manually ran my stats (which you are using the same script) and they worked 
just fine...

TLDR; trim your logs so that only 2017 data is in them... best to do this 
monthly so that a full month is in each log cutting and only the current month 
is in the live log...
