As I said I am new to unix so if BM> you can use plain and simple english as to the steps I need to do it BM> would be gratefully appreciated. I didn't use CVS to get the source... and I don't have access to the machine that I pulled it down to review where I got the source.. I am going to FA it over to you so you have it....I'll find where I got it from and advise for future... first: sudo apt-get install build-essential NOTE: Some options of binkd require additiinal libs!!! Which are NOT noted in the instructions! The --with-zlib and --with-bzip2 need these: sudo apt-get install zlib1g-dev libbz2-dev Now with a build environment setup With the source at hand... tar xvf binkd-1.1.tar.gz cd binkd-1.1 cp mkfls/unix/* . ../configure --with-zlib --with-bzip2 --with-https --with-bwlim --with-ntlm --with-perl NOTE: Do NOT attempt to use --with-pthreads ! ! ! It does NOT WORK! I've tried installing all the libs that various google results list on pthreads... it still fails with this option. There is some lib that this thing needs/wants that I can't find. then sudo make That should result in a binkd binary in the directory. If you run into issues post, and I try to resolve them.. I am working on compiling up a some things for various setups for Fido... ie: PI's ARMHF, and *bunuts AMD64, and possibly 32b if I can find time. Rick .... Ding Dong the Witch is DEAD!
