yes, because the space allocated in the PKT header is only 8 characters long...

it is best, for the most part, but some software works with all uppercase... 
those that are case sensitive need to be adjusted to upper or lower case the 
domain during their validation process... a FTN domain of "FooBar" and another 
one of "fOObAR" are the same FTN domain... case sensitivity on them is... 
ummm... rediculous... they don't even do case sensitivity on internet domains
