Sure ... the only thing I do not understand why it is a SURPRISE for you.

It is all documented in the man page:

SYNOPSIS
       binkd [-CcDipqrsvdmh] [ -P node ] config-file

 rc> -pP but if its -p -P its fine...

As documented in the documentation!

It would be better if you checked BEFORE you do that if that particular 
programs supports that.
