And so in theory a fidonet executable could also be infected. Once the infector 
gets past the defences already in place.

In theory an intruder can get into my bathroom and use my toilet without 
permission. Once he gets into my house.

In practice I weigh the risk against the inconvenience. There is no big lock on 
the door of my toilet. Anyone who gets in the house can use the toilet. I find 
it far too inconvenient for myself to have an extra barrier there.

So I ask again:  when was the last time a _Fidonet_ executable was infected by 
malware by clicking on a link in a fishing mail?
