If the satone is really stone or glass (and not wood), a long soak in a mild
bleach solution (one tablespoon per 5 gallons) will work wonders....

worst thing that can happen is the stone breaks down, but I've only had that
happen with wooden ones.

Make sure you follow up with a really good rinse....
