Trump had nothing to do with it.  The only way he "pushed" them to do
something was by cozying up to Putin.

It is happening because the EU threatened Russia with new economic
sanctions, and also threatened to send more equipment to Ukraine.  Putin
knows he cannot fight Ukraine and the EU.

This deal, if it works, I doubt will be near as generous to Russia as
Trump's "why don't you just surrender to Russia" plan.

Nor is Trump as it doesn't exist.  It is a brand name.
