Which would come out during your due process.  One of the students they
apprehended, and are likely holding in the US (not a deportee), also had
several of these things but the aprehending authorities would not give his
wife time to procure them.

The guy whose been in the news had a court order against him being
deported until his case was finalized.  That should be enough.
