I get that they are temporary jobs. But there are millions of unemployed
Americans. Temporary work is better than nothing, and the project would have
boosted our economy.

What are the benefits of cancelling it & how do they outweigh the benefits of
constructing it?

I guess that's more your thing than mine. What if BBS sysops required
fact-checking?
