I don't know how long they've been doing it, I've only started paying
attention in the last 10 years.

But it looks like they're doing it wrong already! The white guy as the
nominee? After minorities lost to him? Doesn't that go against rule #1 in
identity politics?

Certain Republicans have tried to do it too, including Trump, but I forgive
them for it; they are just being influenced by their Democrat peers.
