GD>You sound very much like the Wizard of Oz, the guy pulling levers, behind GD>the curtain, proclaiming there is nothing to see here. GD>What is wrong with the President asking about what really happened there. GD>Nothing, because it is written within the U.S. Constitution that he must. GD>That did not stop the Democrats, from impeaching the President based upon GD>that inquiry, w/ what was said within the phone call with that nations GD>leader. Normally at the back-end of an impeachment there are evident GD>crimes that are known but at the end of this impeachment there are no GD>crimes that were committed by the President that would indicate the reason GD>why he was impeached. No crimes what so ever. Pelosi is withholding the articles of impeachment from the Senate for a number of good reasons of her own. First of all I thnk she knows it isn't going far in the Senate. Secondly, I think she has the notion she can stretch this out to the election next year and make it an issue of 2020. But something few people realize; Pelosi's own son made money in a Ukraine company trading on his mother's position. Also there was a democrat who pushed hard for impeachment, who's husband made around $700,000 from a Ukrainian who was accused of ordering contract murders! There is a lot that would come out that wouldn't reflect well on some democrats if Pelosi hands this to the Senate and Trump insists on a trial to bring witnesses. There's more at stake for the democrats than Trump if it goes to the Senate for trial. Plus....getting to the Senate would be a much different situation than in front of the democrat-controlled committees in the House; in the Senate it would be much like a courtroom trial. presided over by the Chief Justice. The democrat `house managers' would be the prosecutors, and Trump is entitled to a legal team who can cross examine democrat witnesses; call witnesses of their own; present their own evidence; etc. I strongly suspect that, if it comes to that, the only thing the democrats will be able to say is; they impeached Trump. But this is going to turn out to be one of the worst days democrats ever saw! They do not have one single fact witness. Only hear-say witnesses, and a pack of academics who's best contribution was out-right Trump hate! Their so-called `whistleblower' can't testify to anything. If they could Adam Schitt would have been waving him like a victory flag! --- *Durango b301 #PE* * Origin: Fido Since 1991 | QWK by Web | BBS.FIDOSYSOP.ORG (1:123/140) .
