Bought a trackball. But I'm not very happy with it. In fact, it's very
  painful to use -- worse than a mouse. Maybe  the  one  I  bought  just
  sucks and another model would be fine, dunno.

  I'll  try  something  different:  Moving  the  mouse  cursor using the
  keyboard. I'm not going to do *all* mousing that way,  just  the  most
  important things.

  Well,  a  more  logical  approach  would  be to buy a keyboard with an
  integrated trackpoint. Problem is, I don't know a good model. Plus,  I
  just bought my "Das Keyboard" which is really nice.
