ROPHCATCH(1) General Commands Manual ROPHCATCH(1) NAME rophcatch -- watch Gopher holes and catch updates SYNOPSIS rophcatch [-P] DESCRIPTION rophcatch is a feed reader's equivalent for Gopher. It retrieves a Gopher menu and checks if it contains new items. This allows you to keep up with another user's phlog, for example. rophcatch will print all output to stdout. The options are as follows: -P Normally, rophcatch will fetch a preview of each newly found selector. This will show you an excerpt of new phlog posts, for example. Doing so can be costly if there are a lot of new selectors -- for example on the very first run, when your database is still empty. In this case, you might want to use the -P flag to inhibit pre- view fetching. CONFIGURATION rophcatch will read ~/.config/rophcatch/rophcatch.urls on startup. Each line in this file is a Gopher menu to fetch: # Phlogs gopher://foo.example.com/1/myphlog gopher://some.pubnix.net/1/~cathy # New servers as announced by floodgap gopher://gopher.floodgap.com/1/new Empty lines and lines beginning with a hashtag are ignored. FILES ~/.config/rophcatch/rophcatch.urls Default path of your URLs file. (The XDG_CONFIG_HOME variable is honored.) ~/.local/share/rophcatch/seen Default path of your database file.
