2026-09-28 dispatches from helix ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello, Internet. I am feeling like I have an "infinite TODO list" and it's a bit overwhelming. It's funny because it's effectively all self-imposed: I don't have a boss cracking some whip. Some is from attempting to grow Colocataires, some is the natural churn of owning a house, but a lot is that I want to basically play with things (computers, music, art stuff) but all but the most surface version of that kinda devolves into TODO items. That might be as simple as "ah, remember to read that post" (keep that tab open) or it might that, since trying out Alpine Linux for my main laptop, I now need to get Firefox sync working again, and I need to re-establish IPv6 tunnels and I need to ensure I can handle on-call duties for Colocataires and that I can run `ansible` etc. etc. More subtly there are things that are "TOWORRY" -- OttawaSystems is trying to run another event and PD is arranging the space (good) but also we need to line up speakers. That's not an item "assigned" to me; there's three of us organizers, but also if no one does it then it won't get done, so it's got to be worried about until the event happens. (And minor things like advertising that it is happening, and setting up the event so it can be booked and mailing the mailing list and updating the site etc.) All somewhat self-inflicted, and I will enjoy the fruits of having done this, but I am not enjoying the time when they haven't been done yet, for sure.
