Big pumpkin Keeping with the season's theme, we decided it was time to harvest the biggest of the 3 or 4 pumpkins we had growing this year. So, yeah, no big life changes. As I was telling a friend the other day, my life these days is "comfortably dull". But, hey, we got a big pumpkin. Without further ado, here, have some pics: ![one](./img/pumpkin1.jpg) ![two](./img/pumpkin2.jpg) ![three](./img/pumpkin3.jpg) This thing clocked in at a bit over 27 and a half kg. Google says that's like 60 pounds. Not bad. We were actually a bit worried we were not going to be able to get it out of the enclosed area where they were growing. We still need to install some sort of gate there, instead of our current solution of stepping over a pallet... So, yeah, we'll be making some pumpkin pies, pumpkin soup, pumpkin flan, and probably looking up pumpkin recipes on the MOAR: [Go browse the MOAR (gopher link)](gopher://tilde.pink/1/~bencollver/recipes/) In other news, Scratchy the hen seems to be slowly healing, with new feathers coming out on her back, so yay.
