* Exported from MasterCook * Stromboli Loaves Recipe By : Holiday Appetizers, Better Homes & Gardens Serving Size : 40 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Appetizers Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 16 oz Frozen bread dough; thawed 2 tb Butter -- melted 1/3 c Cooked ham -- chopped fine 3 sl Bacon -- - cooked, drained, crumbled 1/2 c Stuffed green olives -- chopped 1/3 c Golden raisins 1/3 c Parmesan or romano cheese -- - fine shreds 3/4 c Mozzarella or provolone -- - shredded 3/4 c Fontina cheese 1 Egg Line a 15x10x1" baking pan with foil. Grease foil; set aside. Divide dough in half. Roll each half of dough into a 10x8" rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Brush 1 tb butter over each dough rectangle, leaving a 1" plain border. Sprinkle each rectangle evenly with ham, bacon, olives, raisins, and parmesan or romano cheese. Top with mozzarella or provolone cheese and fontina cheese. Carefully fold edges of short sides over filling about 1 or 2"; roll up jelly-roll style, beginning with a long side. Moisten edges and ends with water and pinch to seal. Carefully place rolls, seam side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Cover and let rise in a warm place until nearly double, about 30 minutes. Combine egg and 1 tb water; brush over loaves. Bake in a 350°F oven about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack about 30 minutes before slicing. Cut into 1/2" slices. Cover and chill any leftovers.
