                              Hot Cross Buns

     1/2  c             Milk
     1/4  c             Shortening or applesauce
   1      tb            Sugar
   1 1/2  ts            Salt
     1/2  c             Water
   1                    Egg
     1/2  ts            Cinnamon
   3      c             Flour
     1/2  tb            Yeast (1 pkg)
                        Frosting:
   4      ts            Milk
   1      c             Confectioners' sugar
     1/4  ts            Vanilla

Do on dough cycle letting rest for 15 minutes after kneading.

Shape into rolls and let rise. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.

Note: If I remember right I think I used all the called for liquid.
But hold back 1/4 cup of the water and add only if needed.

Yield: 18 buns
