                            Sonora Cheese Dip

   2      cups          Monterey Jack cheese -- shredded
   2      cups          mild cheddar cheese -- shredded
   6                    green onions -- sliced
     2/3  cup           sweet red pepper -- finely chopped
   2      tablespoons   jalapeno peppers, seeded -- finely chopped

Melt together cheeses in the top of a double boiler over simmering water for
5 to 10 minutes.  Stir in green onion, red pepper and jalapeno pepper.  Serve
hot with tortilla chips.
