MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: French Dip Sandwiches With Onions Categories: Beef, Vegetables, Cheese Yield: 14 Servings 2 lg Onions; in 1/4" slices 1/4 c Butter; in cubes 4 lb Beef rump roast 5 c Water 1/2 c Soy sauce 1 oz Env onion soup mix 1 1/2 ts Browning sauce 1 cl Garlic; minced 14 French rolls; split 2 c Ementhal (Swiss) cheese; - shredded In a large skillet, saute onions in butter until tender. Transfer to a 5 qt slow cooker. Cut roast in half; place over onions. In a large bowl, combine water, soy sauce, soup mix, browning sauce, and garlic; pour over roast. Cover and cook on low until meat is tender, 7 to 9 hours. Remove roast with a slotted spoon and let stand for 15 minutes. Thinly slice meat across grain. Place on roll bottoms; sprinkle with Swiss cheese. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Broil 3 to 4" from heat until cheese is melted, about 1 minute. Replace tops.
