* Exported from MasterCook * German Fest Pizza Recipe By : Local Paper Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pizza Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 6 oz Fresh spicy bratwurst -- - up to 8 oz, see note 1 Prepared thin-style pizza crust - (12") 2/3 c Prepared pizza sauce 3/4 ts Dried oregano 1/2 ts Garlic salt 1/2 c Sauerkraut -- preferably a sweet - German-style 4 oz Swiss cheese (1 c) -- shredded 4 oz Mozzarella cheese (1 c) -- - shredded 1/3 c Canned sliced mushrooms 1/3 c Green peppers -- chopped 1/3 c Onion -- chopped 1/3 c Black olives -- sliced * Note: Sliced smoked Hungarian sausage or pepperoni may be substituted for the bratwurst. Remove casings from bratwurst. Cook in skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up meat as needed, until cooked through and crumbly. Preheat oven to 450 F. Spread pizza crust with prepared pizza sauce. Sprinkle with oregano and garlic salt. Distribute sauerkraut evenly over crust. Mix cheese together and distribute evenly over pizza. Arrange bratwurst over crust and top with mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and olives. Bake in preheated oven 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and crust is lightly browned around edges.
