MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: South Carolina Style Barbecue Hash Categories: American, Southern, Pork Yield: 8 Servings 4 lb Pork shoulder Water; cold 1 ds Black pepper Sauce: 1 md Onion; chopped 2 tb Butter 4 tb Vinegar 2 tb Brown sugar 4 tb Lemon juice 1 c Chili sauce 1 ts Parsley; chopped 1 ts Dry mustard 3 tb Worcestershire sauce 4 tb Barbecue sauce Place pork in a large saucepan with enough cold water to halfway cover it. Add salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer until well done. Remove from pan, cool, then remove all fat and bones. Shred the lean meat and set aside while preparing the sauce. Sauce: Brown the onion in the butter. Add vinegar, brown sugar, lemon juice, chili sauce, chopped parsley, dry mustard, worcestershire sauce, and barbecue sauce. Simmer for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, add the shredded meat and simmer this mixture for another hour. Serve with buns or serve over cooked hot rice. MMMMM
