* Exported from MasterCook * Panned Kale Recipe By : Aunt Sammy's Radio Recipes 1931 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 qt Kale -- cleaned and stripped 2 tb Butter 1 ts Flour 1/2 c Cream or milk Salt Pepper Strip the kale from the midribs and discard them and the stringy portions. Wash the kale thoroughly in several waters, drain, and cut it into small pieces. For each quart of kale allow 2 tb butter or other fat. Melt the fat in a skillet, add the kale, cover to keep in the steam, and cook slowly for 15 to 20 minutes. Sift 1 ts of flour over the kale, mix well, pour in 1/2 cup of cream or milk, and stir until thickened. Season with salt and pepper and serve at once.
