* Exported from MasterCook * Gratin Dauphinoise Recipe By : Miriam Podcameni Posvolsky Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :1:40 Categories : Side Dishes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 lb potatoes 1 clove garlic -- minced 1 tablespoon butter 2 cups heavy cream 2 cups milk 1/2 cup Gruyere cheese -- grated salt, pepper and nutmeg -- to taste Stir together cream, milk and seasonings. Butter a baking dish and rub garlic into it. Slice potatoes as thinly as possible.( food processor) Place potatoes in dish, alternating with the cheese. Pour milk mixture over potatoes.
