MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.02 Title: Onions Vidalia Categories: Vegetables Yield: 1 Batch 2 lb Onions; large and sweet 1 oz Butter; melted 1 Can cream of mushroom soup; - undiluted 1/2 c Half and half cream Salt and pepper; to taste 1/2 c Cheddar cheese; shredded 4 sl French bread 1 1/2 tb Butter; melted Vidalia onions are preferable but any large, sweet, mild onion will do. Slice onions, cut each slice in half, and then saute in a small amount of butter until crisp. Put onions in a greased baking dish. Combine the soup, half and half, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture on the onions and then sprinkle the cheese on top the onions. Put the bread slices on top the mixture and brush the bread with 1-1/2 tb butter. Bake 350 F for 35 minutes.
