                           SWEET PICKLE STICKS

   3 3/4  cups          vinegar
   3      tablespoons   salt
   4 1/2  teaspoons     tumeric
   3      cups          sugar
   4 1/2  teaspoons     celery seed
     3/4  teaspoon      mustard seed

Use fresh, firm, medium cucumbers.  Wash and cut into quarters.  Pour boiling
water over them and let stand overnight.  Next morning, pack solidly into
clean jars.  Make pickling solution, boil 5 minutes pour hot solution over
cucumbers.  Put on lids and seal.
makes 6 pints
