MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Turnip Pickles Categories: Pickles Yield: 3 Pints 3 lb Small turnips; peeled; -sliced thin 3/4 c Salt 1/2 c Water 1 qt Ice cubes; plus more 2 1/2 c Sugar 2 1/2 c Vinegar 1 tb Mustard seed 1 ts Ground turmeric 1/2 ts Whole cloves Mix well turnips, salt, water, and about 1 qt ice cubes. Cover with more ice cubes. Let stand about 3 hours. Rinse and drain. In large saucepan, bring to boil sugar, vinegar, mustard seeds, turmeric, and cloves, stirring to dissolve sugar.
